What do you enjoy most about your job?

The constant exposure to global markets and finance in general.

Describe your company culture.

Very flexible whilst trying to operate in line with US operating hours. Focused on solution delivery and identifying opportunities.

What do you hope your interns will get out of this experience?

The ability to value JSE listed companies using a combination of CAPM, the Gordon growth model and PE multiple approaches. If interns can value US equities that is an added bonus.

What’s your mini bio?

Brent Shapiro, Chief Financial Officer, has worked in finance since 2007. Prior to joining CREO in 2014, Brent was the Director of Consult HQ (Pty) Limited, a financial consulting firm based in Cape Town, South Africa. From 2007 to 2012, Brent was employed by Investec Bank Limited within their Capital Markets division with roles in both their Equity Structuring and Financial Products teams. From 2004 to 2007, in the years prior to being employed by Investec, Brent worked as an auditor in the Cape Town office of the auditing firm Mazars.

Brent graduated from the University of Cape Town (South Africa) with a Bachelor of Business Science degree in Finance and Accounting and received a Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting in 2003. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2006.
